Travel guide of La Vue-des-Alpes64 km from La Vue-des-Alpes
My wife and I were travelling along a winding alpine pass in central Switzerland, anxiously navigating through a terrible storm, in hopes of catching a rainbow. With my wife driving, and I eagerly looking out the passenger window hoping to find a photo in the dense fog. We found the storm had broken on the other side of the valley with a gigantic rainbow! “Faster! We’re gonna miss it”, I exclaimed while my wife drove on - clearly more focused on the rainbow than the driving conditions. We came to a stop along the road, but alas, had missed the rainbow. The view was still worth it.

Having lived in Switzerland for over 2 years, I was totally satisfied with having the Niesen as my favourite mountain… until I saw her.

…we said and even though it was already 11pm we loaded our gear into the grey VW Polo and drove home to a colleague with having in mind to probably shoot some timelapses on the way. The results became awesome and we got some sleep while our cameras clicked their lapses.

Castle Chillon in Switzerland in the blue hour, right after sunset. We have the lights of Montreux in the background, reflecting in the mountain lake. Das Schloss Chillon bei Montreux zur blauen Stunde. Die Lichter der Stadt im Hintergrund.

The lake side promenade in Montreux is possibly one of the best places to see the different colors in the sky from day to night. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to witness such an amazing view of the sunset over the calm waters of Lake Geneva. The leading lines from the railings of the dock, in addition to the streaks from skydiving planes in the sky, really make this an interesting photo spot. In the home of jazz and the Chateau Chillon, it is perhaps unremarkable sights such as these that catch the eye the most.

We hiked up this mountain in Lenk, Switzerland to catch the sunset. There were all these flowers sprouting up like little stars when a week before there was nothing.

After about one hour of hiking in the Swiss Alps, me and my friends made it to this gem of lake. We waited over two hours till the wind was not blowing that much. Suddenly the fog rolled in.

One of the most impressive lakes in Switzerland I’ve visited! We were photographing around the lake when suddenly the fog rolled in. It was an incredible amazing mood.

Me and my girlfriend woke up at 3.00 am to watch the sunrise on a mountain called Fürstein. We made it to the top just in time and we had a great 360° view of the bernese alpes.

Ever gone to Switzerland? It’s a great place to just wander off somewhere and to get completely lost in the mountains. That is what we did here. This way you can sit and marvel at the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in total solitude.

After snapping some photos from the window room, I lied on the bed to rest my legs for a while. After 20 minutes, I saw the last rays of light coloring the top of the Jungfrau and could not help myself snapping more pictures while sitting on the bed.

Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland. J.R.R.Tolkinen hiked from Interlaken to the Lauterbrunnen Valley in 1911. The landscape later provided the concept and pictorial model for his sketches of the fictitious valley of Rivendell.

I woke up in the morning and couldn’t believe when I glanced out of the Suppenalpe window; rays of light were enveloping the Jungfrau summit and I just hoped that any photo I captured would do some justice to the majestic scene.

The Lauterbrunnen area is one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas in the Swiss Alps. Venture a bit out of the tourist center and you’ll be rewarded with some incredible views and light conditions.

Going wild camping in the Swiss Alps is quite an adventure, especially when you need to find a flat spot which is large enough to receive your tent. But as in the Alps, slopes are dominating the scenery… This week-end I was lucky to find a nice place for my tent, but had some spectacular views on the surrounding mountains, like the one pictured here. Erosion, avalanches and rockfall dig deep canions in the slopes add to the character of this valley, following the “La Lizerne” river up to Les Diablerets.

Even though we were surrounded by snow, it felt warm. The sun reflected and bounced off the snow to cover us in warmth. At this elevation in Switzerland, you feel almost in the clouds, it’s surreal. And yet, it’s a simple train ride to the top, no climbing gear needed.

Had the opportunity to fly the drone around and snap some shots from above in Switzerland. I really love the scale the mountain towns can offer as they are surrounded by amazing peaks and ranges. The houses look so minuscule in comparison to the grand mountains.

We were wandering around Grindelwald aimlessly while we ran into this church. After looking around, I decided to pull the drone out and grab a few shots. The epicness of the Eigar, Jungfrau and Monch surrounding this church and town was amazing. I had never felt this much of a grand presence and feel blessed to have been able to experience this.

Hiking in Haslital, Switzerland on a sunny afternoon. Because it was too bright and the mountains in the back were almost washed out I decided to change the pictures to black and white and punch the foreground.
